Special Projects Associate
New York, NY
Madeline (or Maddy for short) is the Special Projects Associate of JLUSA. She supports all departments with research, administrative assistance, and project management. Maddy graduated with a degree in Sociology from Bard College in 2019. As an undergraduate student, she served in various leadership positions with a common focus on social justice organizing and community building. Maddy led an internship program between fellow students and Voice of the Experienced (VOTE) in New Orleans, as well as facilitated events such as panel discussions on mass incarceration and the movement toward its end, featuring formerly incarcerated individuals involved in this work. Through this, Maddy has learned that sustainable change can be accomplished only if the voices and experiences of those directly impacted are uplifted and at the center of a movement. Maddy looks forward to furthering her understanding of education and empathic communication as methods to combat oppression while pursuing a Masters in Social Work.
