Last Thursday, JustLeadershipUSA co-hosted an exciting convening at Columbia University, Leading with Conviction in the Era of Trump. There we released a groundbreaking report with our partners at Columbia Law School’s Center for Institutional and Social Change, “Leading with Conviction: The Transformative Power of Formerly Incarcerated Leaders in Reducing Mass Incarceration.”
It was a powerful day demonstrating the opportunity for real criminal justice reform and the need for bold action. It was also a celebration of what is possible when leaders with conviction are central to the movement and have meaningful decision-making roles. The voices of directly impacted people are critical to our political success in advancing a criminal justice reform agenda. You can watch all of the highlights from Thursday by checking out the archive of the livestream and download the report here.
We are grateful to our partners on the event: the Center for Institutional and Social Change at Columbia Law School, the Center for Justice at Columbia University, College and Community Fellowship, and the Katal Center for Health, Equity, and Justice. We thank the Ford Foundation for their support of the convening.
Thank you so much for supporting our mission here at JLUSA! Your donation helps to support our network of leaders working to dismantle oppressive systems and uplift people and families impacted by mass incarceration across the country.
