Kerry Kennedy turned 65 this week, and we want to wish her a very special happy birthday! We are so excited to have her joining us in person for JustLeadershipUSA’s 10th Anniversary Benefit Gala on Monday, October 21 in New York City.
As the daughter of the late Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, Kerry has dedicated her life to pursuing equal justice for over 40 years. In 1986, she established the RFK Center Partners for Human Rights to ensure the protection of rights codified under the U.N. Declaration of Human Rights.
She currently serves as the President of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, the organization established by her mother in 1968—shortly before her father’s assassination—to reach his goal of a just and peaceful world.
At JLUSA, we are especially grateful to Kerry Kennedy for her advocacy around bail reform. She spoke out in 2016 on behalf of “Kalief’s Law,” named in honor of Kalief Browder who was beaten, starved, and denied medical treatment as a teenager while being held in pretrial detention on Rikers Island.
We look forward to honoring Kerry Kennedy next month at the Gala, and we hope many of you will be able to join us there in person, as well!
