Last week, Ronald Simpson-Bey and Bill Basel presented on the JUSTResearch Partner Hub at the Community Driven Research Approaches (CDRA) HERN meeting held in San Antonio, Texas.
The JUSTResearch Partner Hub is an American Heart Association (AHA) funded collaborative initiative between JustLeadershipUSA (JLUSA) and the SEICHE Center for Health and Justice at Yale. Its mission is to advance cardiovascular health fairness by addressing the under-examined role of mass incarceration as a structural determinant of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the U.S. The Hub aims to develop inclusive, ethical research strategies that center the voices of incarcerated individuals and their families and build capacity of individuals with lived experience in health equity research.
