Alexander Brown

Alexander Brown is a proficient manager overseeing the Decarceration Fellowship at Live Free Illinois. In addition, he holds the position of Community Liaison for Cook County’s Justice Advisory Council. Alexander’s expertise lies in effectively linking community members and organizations with valuable resources that foster growth.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Alexander has been honored with two distinguished awards in 2023. The first award acknowledges him as an exceptional “Advocate” for community members, while the second recognizes his tireless efforts as a “Boots on the Ground” advocate, dedicated to directly assisting community members with their specific needs.

Motivated by the firm belief in the necessity of this work, Alexander is driven to make a difference. Having personally experienced the challenges of growing up in an underserved community plagued by drug-related issues and violence, as well as being directly impacted by the Federal and State criminal justice system, he brings a unique perspective and is regarded as a subject matter expert in his field.
