Michael Saine is a former U.S. Navy Seabee, marketing manager, business consultant, public speaker, and computer science researcher. Currently residing in Lafayette, Indiana, he’s demonstrated his dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion; breaking down barriers; and expanding opportunities for people from disadvantaged backgrounds, minorities, and those impacted by the justice system—through educational services, transformation, and redemption. His passion lies in leveraging personal experiences and technical expertise to raise awareness and advocate for increased capacity and improvements within the STEM field nationwide. He also works toward policy changes that facilitate access for justice-involved individuals.
Currently, Michael serves as the Co-chair of Media and Messaging for Unlock Higher Education, the Communications Supervisor for STEM Opportunities in Prison Settings, and manages social media for From Prison Cells to PhD (P2P). He holds multiple Applied Associate of Science degrees with honors in Cybersecurity Information Assurance, Network Penetration, Network Infrastructure, and Software Development from Ivy Tech Community College. Additionally, he holds a bachelor’s in history and a master’s in cybersecurity with honors from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
