Michael is a Peer Support Specialist and Recovery Coach Supervisor/Trainer. While with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare as a Program Specialist he organized and managed Idaho’s Recovery Coach Program, was part of the team that organized Idaho’s first four Recovery Community Centers, and chaired the Idaho Peer Support Connection Conferences from 2015 to 2017. He also developed Idaho’s Recovery Coach training curriculum currently used throughout the state for Certified Recovery Coaches. His speaking engagements included numerous peer support trainings, and peer support-focused conferences across the State of Idaho.

In the fall of 2018 Michael founded BarNone, Inc. a community-based nonprofit advocacy group for criminal justice reform. He served as Director from 2018 to 2019.  Michael is currently the Director of Peer Support Services & Consulting, a nonprofit organization that focuses on peer support development and community-based criminal justice reform and advocacy.
