Will Rothschild is a lifelong New Yorker who is passionate about social justice and addressing inequality in the US and abroad. He has a background in finance in both the for profit and non-profit sectors, having worked in corporate development in the energy sector and managed the investment portfolios of foundations. He has also held roles in international development and education. Since 2016, he has directed the Robert and Maurine Rothschild Fund, a family foundation that has primarily focused on reforming our justice system. As an early funder of Just Leadership, he has long been a supporter of the movement to place those directly impacted by the criminal legal system in leadership roles. The Fund has also been a strong supporter of the restorative justice movement, measurement and accountability in law enforcement, and the movement to end solitary confinement, among others.
Will received his bachelor’s degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and holds a master’s degree in public administration from New York University. Recently he has become more involved in addressing homelessness and affordable housing and hopes to work more closely on these issues in the coming years.
In his free time, Will is an avid martial artist and practices jiu jitsu and kickboxing. He also loves movies, politics, philosophy, and spending time in nature.
