JLUSA leaders discuss rural reentry at conference for Appalachian funders

November 8, 2023

Last week, Philip Cooper (Leading with Conviction™ 2022) and Lester Young were among the speakers at the 2023 Rural Re-Entry Workforce Convening, hosted by the Appalachia Funders Network at The Carnegie Hotel in Johnson City, Tennessee.

The event aimed at reviewing new data and “helping to build structures that will benefit individuals looking to re-enter the workforce from incarceration in rural areas.”

Lester shared his powerful, personal story and insights from his work on “The Five Stages of Incarceration.” Philip spoke on the resources available for formerly incarcerated people to reenter the workforce.
