Lester Young, JustLeadershipUSA Senior Movement and Capacity Building Specialist, was honored recently by the mayor of Columbia, SC, Daniel J. Rickenmann, and the city council.
Lester posted the video of that moment with these words: “I experienced a moment that will forever be etched in my heart. Being acknowledged by the Mayor and City Council members for my Path2Redemption™️ journey is a profound honor. As someone with a felony conviction in my past, this recognition is a testament to the power of perseverance, growth, and the belief that we can all create positive change, no matter our history.
Every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory.

It serves as a reminder that our past does not define us and that redemption and transformation are possible for all. I am deeply grateful for the support of my community, family, and friends who have stood by me through thick and thin.
