SaulPaul participates in Savannah, Georgia youth summit

“On July 24th, the City of Savannah hosted the ‘Oh the Places You’ll Go’ Youth Summit at the Savannah Civic Center, where middle and high schoolers were invited from 9am to 3pm for music, networking, learning, and fun. Also invited was GRAMMY Award-nominated musician, SaulPaul [Leading with Conviction™ 2018], who spoke to teens about his life, highlighting how important it was for young people to know that they’re born on purpose, with a purpose.

My vision was to perform worldwide … That helped me get through prison.

“Teens who attended the event were able to experience fun activities, like virtual reality simulations and golf swinging practice hosted by First Tee Savannah. … Another activity that the teens got to experience was a ‘Real Life’ Simulator. As groups, the teens were given different jobs and backgrounds. They had to make decisions that helped educate them on the importance of compromise and moderation, highlighting how impactful choices can be. …

“SaulPaul came from a hard background; he grew up without a father and his mother passed away when he was 3. He was raised by his grandmother in Houston and ended up serving two years in Texas State Penitentiary. Once he got out though, he went on to graduate with honors and eventually become a globally known musician/songwriter. ‘My vision was to perform worldwide, to entertain – inspiring, empowering audiences all across the world. That helped me get through prison and persevere through college, always seeing an end goal.’”
