Jan Schneiderman was born in New York and lived there most of her life. She attended NYC public schools and upon graduation started her college career at SUNY at Stony Brook. Jan transferred to the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. After taking a gap year, Jan attended and graduated law school at Emory University School of Law.
Early in her career Jan was in-house counsel for a union that represented doctors and dentists in New York and New Jersey and then opened her own private practice specializing in sports and entertainment Law, family law, trusts and estates, and real estate.
Jan has been directly impacted by the criminal justice system and now works actively with several criminal justice reform organizations. At this moment, Jan’s primary focus is the drafting and filing of petitions for Executive Clemency working closely with the Cando Foundation.
