Sean Kyler

Sean Kyler works as the Associate Director of Operations for Vera Institute’s advocacy and partnerships department. Sean is instrumental in the team’s work to end the exception clause contained in the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Before joining Vera in 2019, Sean worked at Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison as an assistant academic coordinator. His work in Sing Sing Correctional Facility helped hundreds of men obtain college degrees and led to the formation of the Alliance for Higher Education in Prison.

In addition to his work at Vera, Sean is a member of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DOHMH) Institutional Review Board, which protects the rights and welfare of subjects involved in research activities conducted under the jurisdiction of DOHMH.

Sean holds a B.S. in behavioral science from Mercy College and an MPS in professional studies from New York Theological Seminary.
