Kemba Smith’s story featured on “America In Black”

“Before Kemba Smith [Leading with Conviction™ 2020] was an award-winning public speaker, criminal justice reform advocate, and author, she was incarcerated serving a 24.5 year sentence in federal prison for being involved with her drug-dealing boyfriend. ‘America In Black’ special correspondent Ed Gordon talks to Smith about her ongoing fight to free those incarcerated people who are still in prison because of harsh sentences like hers. Her real-life story has been adapted for the screen in the BET+ movie, ‘Kemba.’”
